Just Here for the Beer

So what do the pharaohs of ancient Egypt and modern-day fanatical football fans have in common? They all love to drink beer of course! This evening we will discover that there is more to beer tasting than just looking at the foam at the bottom of an empty glass. Explore several domestic, import, specialty, and micro brewery beers. Learn subtle differences, in colour, aroma, and taste. We have a great selection from around the world; we just need some people to help us sample them!

South African Wines

Emerging from the shadow of Apartheid, South Africa is increasingly making better wines which usually represent good value for money at all levels on the quality scale. Although South Africa is classed as a 'new world' region, wines it produces are often nicely poised between the new world and old world styles.

Cheers! It’s Earth Day – Fair Trade / Organic / Biodynamic Wines

Amid the romance of it all, it’s easy to forget that, like milk, mustard, or breakfast cereal, wine at its core is an agricultural product, right down to the cork. No matter how many points Robert Parker awards, it starts in the soil long before it meets the swirling, sniffing, slurping masses. More and more wineries are engaging in responsible farming these days. That’s great news for everyone, but can get a bit confusing for the wine drinker. For this tasting we will explore fair trade, organic and biodynamic wines.

Women & Wine - in honour of Mother`s Day

For hundreds of years, women have been actively involved with all aspects of the wine business; winemakers, winery owners, importers, distributors, and viticulturists. An evening exploring wines that have been influenced by a woman – makes a great gift for Mother’s Day!
