At The Wine Cellar South we aim for all our tastings to be informal yet informative. Wine lovers at all levels of experience are welcomed, whether beginners or connoisseurs. The tastings are held in a lively, relaxed, interactive atmosphere.

All sessions will be a sit down format and numbers are limited to 16 people for each event to ensure time to engage in conversation. Prices vary according to the cost of the wines.

  • All tastings start promptly at 7:00 pm
  • Seating is strictly limited, so book early to avoid disappointment
  • It is recommended that attendees arrange a ride following the class
  • Tastings are complete with light snacks but not a meal
  • Tastings are non-refundable
  • Credit Card needed to reserve your seat at the tasting

This tasting and seminar will introduce alternative red wines and a couple of white wines for those who are interested in reaching out beyond the comforts of ABC (anything but Chardonnay/Cabernet). Grape Expectations

Grape Expectations Part One

This seminar and tasting focuses on comparing and contrasting Old World and New World wines while learning about the regions from which they were made. Comparisons include: the styles of Chardonnay from Burgundy versus those from California, differences in Merlot grown in Bordeaux versus Washington State and Cabernet Sauvignon from Bordeaux in comparison to Napa Valley. The class concludes with Champagne versus Crémant de Bourgogne.

Grape Expectations Part Two

In this tasting and seminar, you will compare Sauvignon Blanc from France versus Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand, Pinot Noir from Burgundy versus an Oregon Pinot Noir, French Syrah versus Australian Shiraz and concluding with a tasting of a Châteauneuf-du-Pape versus a Priorat which are primarily made from Grenache/Garnacha.
